TFSChangelog - Unable to connect to TFS

I have downloaded and installed TFSChangelog and when I execute, I see the popup box indicating 'Connect to TFS' but nothing happens when I click on the connect button. The box actually disappears. Is there an additional step needed? I am running TFS with VS2012.

Basically, TFSChangeLog v refers to TFS 2010 dll files. In the code, these files are referenced as below…
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ReferenceAssemblies\v2.0\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.dll
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ReferenceAssemblies\v2.0\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client.dll
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ReferenceAssemblies\v2.0\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Common.dll
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ReferenceAssemblies\v2.0\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ReferenceAssemblies\v2.0\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Common.dll
c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ReferenceAssemblies\v2.0\Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.dll
TFS 2010 (along with TFS 2012 Compatibility GDR) will allow users to connect and work with TFS 2012 server. Due to this, you will have to install Visual Studio 2010 Team Explorer (“”) along with Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Team Foundation Server 2012 Compatibility GDR ( and then run TFSChangeLog application.

NOTE: I could not find “Visual Studio 2010 Team Explorer SP1” download link on the internet. So if TFS 2012 Compatibility GDR does not install on “Visual Studio 2010 Team Explore” installation then I recommend downloading and installing Visual Studio 2010 SP1 from

Another option is for you to download source code of TFSChangeLog application and simply change references for above specified files and point to TFS 2012 equivalent dlls that are installed in your environment. Then rebuild and produce installer that you can then install on your computer.

PLEASE let me know how it went!

Best Regards,
TFSChangeLog Team
